A Few Good Men and Women....Are we being the Few?

I am sure most of you are familiar with the phrase..."A Few Good Men"!  So hearing this...are we really trying or are we who we need to be...the Few...the Good?

(2 Chronicles 16:9a), "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him."

(Ezekiel 22:30a) "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap."

An age old Promise Keeper  question...are we "standing in the gap?"

Yes, God gave us men...but he too gave us women.  He gave us Noahs, whom you trust your mighty plans; gave us Abrahams, who was willing to leave home and homeland to follow his call; also gave us Josephs, who rather endure prison than violate one of God's commands.  And he gave us Moseses, who was willing to stand as the mouthpiece against the most powerful leaders in all the world and gave us Daniels, who rather face a lion's den that compromise his faith.  Wait a minute...he also gave us women... awesome women like Abigail, Esther, and Ruth.

So God has give us Men and Women...but the reality of it is...He also gives us children.  To us, as parents, he gives the task of forging those children into men and women.  To help equip us for that task, God has provided the book of Proverbs, which is largely the advice of a father to his son...Our children are our legacy...as a parent...are we taking this thought seriously?
