Expectations

The verse today will be taken from Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

Do we not majority of the time, often settle for much less than what God wants to do through us? In Jeremiah 32:27 "I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.  Is anything too hard for Me?" and we answer "No, Lord."  Yet when we face difficult situations we begin to qualify our belief in God and lower our expectations of what God will do.  It is one thing to believe God could perform a miracle in the Bible, or a thousand years ago, or even in he life of a friend; it is quite another matter to wholeheartedly believe God can do anything He chooses to do in our lives?

When the Almighty God speaks to us, through the Holy Spirit, what we do next proves what we believe about Him, regardless of what we say.  For example, God goes to Moses and revealed His plan to orchestrate the greatest exodus in human history, and God wanted to use Moses for this task.  And what did Moses do? Probably much what we do, have done or will do...Moses responded by arguing with God!  Moses was overwhelmed by what he heard and began to make excuses for why he could not participate in God's activity.  Moses, most like us, would have readily acknowledged his belief in God's power; but Moses reaction indicated he simply did not believe God could do His miraculous work through his life.  Moses' argument with God limited his ministry for the rest of his life (Exodus 4:13-16).

Do you desire to have your blessings or ministry limited?

Do you sense there may be far more that God wants to do through your life that what you have been experiencing?  If so, we need to ask God to show us what it is.  Then be PREPARED to RESPOND in faith and obedience to what He tells you and me.

One thing came to my attention these past few weeks.  We must not limit God.  By limiting God, we limit our blessing.  As in our personal growth...Michelangelo stated this, "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving the mark".  Are staying in our comfort zone by limiting ourselves and God or are we stepping out into faith and expect higher expectations and blessings?  Let us not under achieve in life and under achieve expectations and blessings from God.

Let us not settle for less for what God can and is willing to do in our lives.

Have a blessed week.
